- The SBA Mentor Protégé Application Preparation Service is designed for clients who want to establish a professional relationship between their firm and a larger, more established firm without triggering any SBA or competitor allegations of affiliation while both you and your mentor benefit from the technical, financial, subcontracting and joint venture contracting arrangements.

- The following are included in our SBA Mentor Protégé Application Preparation Service:
- We will first determine that both the mentor and the protégé qualify to participate in the Mentor Protégé Program.
- Identify all enclosures and data items that the protégé must provide to EZCertify to enable the preparation of the Mentor Protégé Agreement.
- Identify the type of assistance being sought by the protégé through their participation in the program
- Determine the mentor's capabilities and willingness to provide the specific assistance being sought by the protégé in each of the following areas: 1) Technical and Management Assistance, 2) Financial Assistance in the form of equity investments and loans, 3) Subcontracting support for the protégé, 4) Participation in prime contracts with the protégé via the use of SBA-approved joint ventures.
- Contact the protégé and the mentor via email and telephone to discuss and obtain any missing information.
- Complete the SBA Mentor Protégé Agreement and all associated enclosures.
- Prepare a cover letter for the submittal of the SBA Mentor Protégé Application to the protégé's SBA Business Opportunity Specialist at their local SBA District Office.
- Identify places where signatures are required in the application.
- Transmit the prepared complete SBA 8(a) Mentor Protégé Application to the protégé for their provision to the SBA.
- Provide any responses to client or SBA questions or challenges to the application.
