I wanted to send a short note of thanks to you and your company for your professionalism and expertise in getting our company, Bay Technologies Consulting Group, 8(a) certified. As a bit of history, we contracted with EZCertify in September of last year to assist in reviewing our application (which we had initially completed using your EZCertify software tool). Your company quickly spotted several areas that needed “beefing up" and provided us with concrete examples and information to assist us. After following your advice and adjusting our documentation, we submitted our application in late October and were certified by mid-December.

Your firm’s knowledge of the 8(a) process and its ability to translate that knowledge to our situation was more than we would have hoped for when we initially contacted EZCertify. Certainly, without the guidance you provided, we would have never been able to become certified as quickly as we did, if at all.

On a more personal note, I wanted to mention that, when I started in this field fresh out of college 18 years ago, my first job opportunity was with RJO Enterprises. During the several years I was at RJO, I learned more about the dynamics of business than at any other time in my career. I was continually impressed with the entrepreneurial spirit and customer focus emphasized to all of us working there in our daily activities. In fact, it was within this spirit that you may remember me. I was awarded IR&D funding in the 1988 timeframe to develop an expert system for database normalization – the project was called EKNF Expert. I have tried to take these lessons and approaches with me to every employer subsequent to my employment with you and now into my own business as well.

When Cathy Rice and I started Bay Technologies over five years ago, it was with the RJO model in mind. Only recently were we able to organize the company in such a manner as to be able to apply for our certification. So, I find myself in a position where, 15 years after having last worked for you, you once again have provided a path for success. I want to personally thank you for both the past and the present. If I had never been given that initial chance out of college and had ended up at some more mediocre computer firm, I am sure I would not have had a fraction of the professional success that I have enjoyed in my career.

Looking back on the lessons learned over the years and the potential opportunities ahead for our company, it seemed only natural to inquire as to whether it would be possible to utilize your expertise in assuring that we start off on the right foot. We would be grateful if we could employ your services (either informally in a couple of hours of Q&A or formally, with something more substantial) to assist us in doing things the “right way". As I hope you can see, I value your knowledge and expertise and hope that we could benefit from your input if you would be so generous with vour time.

Let me close by saying once again, it was a pleasure working with EZCertify. Your son, Rick, could not have been more helpful or knowledgeable about the process in general or our needs in the particular. We hope all is well and certainly look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
